PSALM 23

On December 24th, 2006 many bass fishermen lost a close friend, N.C. Clanahan, Jr. Green Pastures not only lost a friend but one of the original founders. N.C. played a major role in the development and well being of the Green Pastures Bass Club. With N.C.’s help, the rules were written, dues were set, the word was put out and the club was born. N.C. did not stop with the birth of GP. He continued to work the early morning registration table when needed and nearly always helped with the weigh in. As most of us in the club know, he could also catch a big fish or two. N.C. was the winner of the 2006 top 25 club championship.  In his memory for everything he has done for us we want to make sure N.C. is remembered in the Green Pastures Club. The top 25 club championship will now be known as “The Clanahan Classic”. We have lost a very good friend to the big bass lakes in the sky but here his memory will remain not only in the hearts of those who knew him but with everyone who fishes Green Pastures’ most prestigious event, The Clanahan Classic.
